New Sydney Day Tour Celebrates the History, Life, Land and Culture of Australia

January 7th, 2012 admin No comments

(PRWEB) December 20, 2010

PRWEB) December 20, 2010 -- There are many bus tours from Sydney to popular destinations like the Blue Mountains, famous for its majestic views, Hunter Valley for wine tasting, Canberra for sightseeing or the South Coast for Whale and Dolphin watching cruises. There are also numerous ways of seeing Sydneys city sights, including the Eastern Beaches and Northern Beaches. Some tour businesses have even tried combining a wide range of uniquely Australian experiences into an all encompassing multi-day package. While cuddling a koala, taking photos of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge or visiting natural icons such as The Three Sisters at Katoomba and Uluru (Ayers Rock) are uniquely Australian endeavours, many tourists never get father than lounging at a Hotel on Bondi Beach, buying souvenir Kangaroos or listening to an aborigine play the Didgeridoo in Circular Quay. What opportunities are available to provide these vacationers with a greater understanding of the true Australian lifestyle?

Understand Down Under (UDU) now offers these "day tourists" bushwalks and nature escapes that include commentary on every aspect of the surrounding environment. These tours cover the way the local aborigines lived, to the plants they used, to the development of Gondwana and the origins of its amazing animals, and even touches on the geology which forms the ancient foundations of each eco-system. They offer a real journey of discovery where information is delivered in an accurate, holistic manner. The UDU guides job is to answer the hard questions and to correct misconceptions. All the while, UDU remembers that the tourists are on holiday after all! Theres nothing wrong with an excess of photography, laughing like a lunatic at a strange looking marsupial or turning up your nose to Vegemite.

So how are all of these elements combined to form a single day that delivers a true understanding of Australia, in a thoroughly relaxing manner? With memories so enjoyable that the photos go straight from the iPhone to Facebook?

For a one day tour that is a big task. Australia is a big country after all, and diverse too. Sydney doesnt represent New South Wales, and NSW is vastly different to Tasmania, the Northern Territory or the Great Barrier Reef. However, UDUs one day tour can highlight the themes that make all these areas unique, pointing out similarities such as the many Eucalypts or sandstone rocks, as well as the variations. For example, the Aborigines in the Sydney area didnt play didgeridoos. Many tourists crave a richer adventure and deeper understanding of the places they visit and UDU tours satisfy that craving.

In these days of Blackberry's, Google, YouTube and Twitter, people are more eager to share their experiences in real time. Travellers can now make decisions based on the advice and written accounts of friends and strangers. However, that also means you have to be lucky enough to have a friend that has discovered a hidden secret.

Visiting the Royal National Park on an UDU day tour is eco-tourism at its best. More than just recreation, with UDU the experience is more like being a celebrity in hiding. Away from the tourist crowds, UDU excursions explore the wilderness, secluded beaches as seen in movies, the rainforests that provide a feeling of health and well-being and the food and drinks that are new to most pallettes. An UDU tour is truly special. Money cant buy love, but a little of it can be traded for a once in a lifetime experience. Tourists from America, Europe, Asia and elsewhere in the world visiting Sydney are in luck. Australia's rich history, culture and land and legacy are waiting. Understand Down Under's new eco-tours to the Royal National Park can be booked at http://www.daytoursydney.com.au.

Salty and sweet... but I put too much honey. A 1:1 ratio is probably correct. Thanks Scott!

Country Duo, O’Shea Recognized as ‘Friends of Australia’ to Help Promote Australian Tourism

December 19th, 2011 admin No comments

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) July 18, 2011

Nashville based, Australian-born husband and wife country duo, Mark and Jay O'Shea have been chosen to feature in the "Friends of Australia" program, working closely with Tourism Australia to help promote travel Down Under.

The Friends of Australia program involves sports stars, fashion designers, leading chefs, environmentalists, entrepreneurs and artists, along with some of Australia's most influential high-achievers and opinion leaders.

"Tourism Australia's Friends of Australia program has proved to be very successful in getting influential local and internationally-based Australians to motivate and inspire others about our great country, through their passion, their story-telling and extended networks," said Andrew McEvoy, Managing Director, Tourism Australia.

Influential people such as the celebrity chef Curtis Stone, children's supergroup The Wiggles, entrepreneur Richard Branson, and Academy award-winning director Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge and Australia) are among the advocates.

"We are thrilled to be a part of this program and humbled to be included in such prestigious company," says Jay O'Shea.

"It's second nature for us to want to share the beauty of Australia with the world and we're excited to be able to take that beyond just Vegemite and Kangaroos!" adds Mark.

O'Shea's testimonial videos will be released this week on-line at http://lensonaustralia.viotv.com and on Tourism Australia's Facebook page of more than 1.7 Million fans.

About O'Shea: With their seamless harmonies, eclectic country-soul sensibility carrying them into the top five of the hit CMT television series, Can You Duet, husband and wife duo O'Shea were welcomed wholeheartedly onto one of country music's most prominent stages. And while Can You Duet offered America its first introduction to O'Shea, the show in fact represents merely a single step in this talented duo's nearly 20-year musical journey. Individually, Mark and Jay O'Shea have an impressive string of writing and artist credits that span the globe; while Mark has won multiple CMAA awards (the Australian equivalent of the US CMA Awards), Jay has penned a #1 pop song in Europe and toured as a backing vocalist for rock legends, INXS. Their recent single "SMASH" reached #1 on the Australian Country Music Channel's Top 30 and their debut album Mr & Mrs is set for release later this year. Question by MM9: How long is Vegemite still good after the expiration date?
I have a jar of Vegemite I haven't opened yet. It says it's expired now, but I'm wondering how long after that date is it still okay to eat?

Best answer:

Answer by Kraken
Vegemite has so much salt in it that I am actually surprised that it has an expiration date. I have eaten old vegemite like 2 or 3 months after the exp. date and I haven't gotten sick yet. Use your senses, if you see mold or if it smells and tastes funny throw it away.

Give your answer to this question below!

Le Edge, an Australian Innovation in Exfoliation, Appoints Distributor for the United States

December 2nd, 2011 admin No comments

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 31, 2011

Australia has given us many great things Nicole Kidman, kangaroos and vegemite to name a few. Now a break through beauty tool, Le Edge The Next Generation in Exfoliation, is making its way across the Pacific into the U.S. Beauty Market; launching at Cosmoprof North America 2011.

Le Edge is a product where the old meets the newas the concept of using a metal edge to clean and exfoliate the skin dates back to ancient Rome, where a tool called a strigil was used to cleanse the skin before entering the bathhouses. Le Edge, the modern day strigil, gives you a professional exfoliation look and feel, naturally.

Le Edge USA is offering clients the opportunity for a chance to win a dream Holiday to Australia! Visit Pavilion D, Booth # D121 for more details.

What is Le Edge:

Le Edge is a hygienic personal exfoliating tool. The finely sculptured surgical grade stainless steel Edge is applied to skin pre-moistened with water. The act of drawing the edge across the skin surface collects and removes dead skin cells and debris; leaving the skin clean, fresh and rejuvenated. Le Edge is precision designed, so it wont scrape or puncture the skin. Requiring no chemicals or harsh scrubs, it is the ideal natural exfoliation product on the market today.

How is Le Edge Used:

Le Edge is for use on wet skin; ideally you should exfoliate when in the shower or bath. Hold your Le Edge at a 45-degree angle to the area you are exfoliating, and place your fingers where indicated by the power grips to prevent slipping. The warm water will soften the skins surface allowing Le Edge to slide along the skin collecting the outer layer of dead skin cells and debris. Move to another area of the body, always sliding along the skin in the direction that feels comfortable to you. Clean Le Edge by placing it under warm running water.

Le Edge is Excellent for:

Mens & Womens Skin Care: Exfoliating speeds up your skins natural renewal process, removing the dead skin cells that build up the skin surface. Once the dead cells are gone, your complexion looks brighter and healthier.

Waxing or Shaving: Use Le Edge to exfoliate before waxing or shaving to even out the skins surface and achieve a smoother, closer shave

Sunless Tanning: Use Le Edge to remove your old sunless tanner and/or to prepare your skin for a new sunless tan application

Athletes: Use Le Edge before shaving down for enhanced performance

Pedicures: Use Le Edge as part of your pedicure routine to maintain clean and beautiful feet

Already a powerful seller internationally in Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, France and the Middle East; Le Edge is fast becoming a must have beauty and exfoliation product. Le Edge USA has been appointed as the official distributor for the Le Edge product in the United States, Mexico and Canada; and will launch at Cosmoprof North AmericaLas Vegas, Jul. 31 through Aug. 2.

A welcome is extended to all Distributors, Media and valued clients to attend Pavilion D, Booth # D121 Mandalay Bay Convention Center: Cosmoprof North America 2011.
