The setting is Winton's favorite: the thorn-bushed, sheep-farmed, sun-punished boondocks of Western Australia. The cast is limited but spirited: the two chief protagonists are Georgie Jutland, a fortysomething ...

Excerpt: "Can't Help Falling in Love", by George Weiss, Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore, is a pop song based on "Plaisir d'amour" by Jean Paul Egide Martini. It was adapted for inclusion in the 1961 film Blue Hawaii, starring Elvis Presley. During the following four decades, it went on to be covered by numerous artists, most notably by the UK group UB40, whose 1993 version also topped the UK singles charts. Presley's version of the song, which topped the British charts in 1962, has appeared in numerous other films, including Coyote Ugly and Walt Disney's Lilo and Stitch. According to the RIAA, the single is certified Platinum, for US sales in excess of one million copies. During Presley's late sixties and 1970s live performances, the song was performed as the show's finale. Most notably, it was also sung in the live segment of his 1968 NBC television special, and as the closer for his 1973 Global telecast, "Aloha from Hawaii". 7" single In 1993, British reggae band UB40 covered the song, as first single from their 1993 album Promises and Lies. It eventually climbed to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 after debuting at number 100 and appears in the soundtrack of the movie Sliver. It remained at number one for seven weeks. It was also number 1 in the UK. It was a great success, reaching number one in Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden, UK, the US, Australia, and New Zealand. The single version of the song has a slightly different backing rhythm and melody. In the US, and on the Sliver soundtrack, the song title was listed as "Can't Help Falling In Love," rather than what appeared on the record sleeve. hey. Im abit confused about my options in life in regards to the possible future careers i should take. I love acting and want to be an actress i also currently attend NIDA (National Institute for Dramatic Arts) but i want to do a degree of some sort at University along the lines of film studies yet i have NO idea wat the degree is called, what i learn and if it is truly what i am looking for.
I live in sydney australia. If anyone can give me suggestions of something i can do at Uni with acting and film and television that would be great. Thanx_. xx
I don't know the specifics of University in Australia, but I received a Bachelors of Science in Film Prouction here in the states. I lot of American universities have Film departments, sometimes under their Arts and Communications section. Besides production, Screen Writing and Film Criticism are often divisions of film studies. These might be good choices to look into if you would like to get a degree in Film. Good luck!

The title Bringing to Light has two meanings. First, this book is an act of bringing to light a history that was gradually becoming mythologized, in part because the ethnographic films of the past are now rarely seen. Secondly, much of the filmmaking discussed in this book was motivated by a desire to bring to the light of film the socio-cultural life of Australia's Indigenous peoples....

At one point, the veteran band seemed unlikely to even make it to the new millennium, but here they are, mostly intact, with a string of hits dating back more ...
Disney's 1959 animated effort was the studio's most ambitious to date, a widescreen spectacle boasting a gorgeous waltz-filled score adapting Tchaikovsky. In the 14th century, the malevolent Maleficent (not dissimilar to the wicked Queen in Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs taunts a king that his infant Aurora will fatally prick her finger on a spinning wheel before sundown on her 16th birt...
This is the restored, 209-minute director's cut of Wolfgang Petersen's harrowing and claustrophobic U-boat thriller, which was theatrically rereleased in 1997. Originally made as a five-hour miniseries, this version devotes more time to getting to know the crew before they and their stoic captain (Jürgen Prochnow) get aboard their U-boat and find themselves stranded at the bottom of the sea. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (also known as Batman of the Future: Return of the Joker in Europe and Australia) is a direct-to-video animated film featuring the comic book superhero Batman and his archenemy, the Joker. It is set in the continuity of the animated series Batman Beyond, in which Bruce Wayne has retired from crimefighting and given the mantle of Batman to high school student Terry McGinnis. As in the TV series, Will Friedle and Kevin Conroy star as Terry McGinnis and Bruce Wayne, respectively. Mark Hamill, who played the Joker opposite Conroy in Batman: The Animated Series, returns in the title role. Before its release, the movie was heavily edited to remove scenes of violence, and some dialogue was altered, thus creating the "Not-Rated" version of the movie. The original version was subsequently released on DVD following an online petition to have the original version released. It received a PG-13 rating from the MPAA for violence. Mephisto Odyssey and Static-X contributed the song "Crash (The Humble Brothers Remix)" on the film's soundtrack, along with a music video featured on the DVD.

The life of legendary scientist Albert Einstein is re-imagined as a slapstick farce in this comic fantasy. Changing Einstein's country of origin from Germany to Tasmania, the film shows the scientist's eventful youth as he creates rock & roll and discovers the secret of splitting the beer atom. Director and star Yahoo Serious loads the film with slapstick comedy, absurd sight gags, and even sneaks in a romantic subplot in which Einstein courts Marie Curie. The film was a huge hit in its native Australia but a major box-office disappointment in the United States, where audiences largely ignored the display of nonstop silliness. ~ Judd Blaise, All Movie Guide. Ok I know it's November 20, but that is more than most likely the US date. I live in Australia, and this Australian website wrote and I quote,
"New Moon is coming soon, okay soon-ish, and while we get to see it before the US, we are beat out by one day in France and Belgium, but you know what who cares?!"
Why on earth would we get an American movie before America?? How reliable is this source?
What is the Australian release date?
November 19th.
lucky for you!
Dance Academy Trailer - Coming Soon to ABC Australia
Part of the Kingdom Studies Series. Is there a book of the Bible more often discussed and yet less understood than the Book of Revelation? The “seven seals.” The “dragon.” The “beast.” The “sea of glass.” The fantastic imagery found in the Book of Revelation has long captivated Christians but remains mysterious to many. In the midst of so much discussion about the end times, what does Revelation teach us about living in the present moment, with our eyes focused on the heavenly Jerusalem? Michael Barber’s latest book, Coming Soon, explores these questions by taking a detailed look at Revelation and its rich tapestry of prophecy, history, and biblical allusion. Barber explores the profound link between the Mass celebrated here on earth and the eternal reality of heaven, demonstrating that the Apocalypse reveals truth that has practical implications for today and points to a firm hope in tomorrow. Coming Soon is a verse-by-verse commentary on the Book of Revelation using the Revised Standard Version: Catholic Edition of the Bible. Barber provides a Catholic interpretation, which sees the liturgical background of this book of Scripture—a perspective missing in many Protestant commentaries. Study Questions: Questions at the end of each chapter help promote discussion and reflection. Michael Barber holds a bachelor's degree in theology and philosophy from Azusa Pacific University in Southern California and a master's degree in theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is currently working on his Ph.D. in Theology at Fuller in Pasadena, California. About the Series: The Kingdom Studies explore the teaching and mission of Jesus Christ as revealed in the New Testament and carried on by His Church. Solid, trustworthy content in language anyone can appreciate. Does the movie "Let the Right One In" (or 'Let Me In') have english subtitles?
Their is a novel titled "Let the Right One In" & in the US they titled it "Let Me In". It is from a Swedish writer & they produced it into a film, titled Let the Right One In (with the screenplay written by the writer of the novel.)
They are producing an English version remake of the film for release in 2010.
However, i would love to see the Swedish version. Wikipedia says it was released in Australia in March 2009 - but i can't seem to find it at any theaters. Does anybody know when the DVD Release date is set & if so, will it have English subtitles to turn on to watch it?
Thanks.
