melbourne australia facts
do americans ignore the fact that Flea A.K.A Michael Balzary is Australian?

whoooooo born in Burwood, victoria, melbourne,Australia the best bass player in the world isnt american:D
yes it is the same Flea if there are any others i havnt heard im a diehard RHCP fan!:D
btw im not having a personal attack on ur country, just like all australians we celebrate everything gr8 this country has or has achieved just as your country would and does.

Well he's never made it publicly known.......not to my knowledge at least. He also has our American accent, so maybe he was born in Australia, but he must have been raised here, so to that I say thank you Australia!
I don't know if I would consider him the best in the world, I can think of a few others that can out-do him......but not many.
If you're into heavy bass-driven music, check out Béla Fleck, if you already haven't. He's pretty amazing. Or Rhino from Mudvayne?
So which city was flea born in, you listed 3?
Have a good one.

australia government website visa
How can i get a 2nd Visa for Australia?

Can anyone please advise..

I had a year work about 3 years ago and only ended up staying for 5 months and working for less than that

Back then i applied on the government website, and you got a confirmation code (like booking a flight) which you then exchanged for the stamp in your passport at immigration

Is it possible to get some kind of 2nd work visa?....I have heard rumors that you can maybe get a business visa and self employ yourself or something like that or get sponsorship before going over there but how would i get sponsership when i have minimal qualifications (BTECH Sports Sience)

Anyone have any experience in this situation?

Cheers,

you can try this site if its another working holiday visa you are after
,also depends where your from

Results, of the tournament, refers to the winners of the tournament in certain divisions, for example mens and womens singles and mixed doubles etc. T.V. schedule, refers to the t.v. schedule of the Open. 2009 mens single winners, was Rafael Nadal. Mens Final, winner was Roger Federer. Bracket, is the round by round tournament listings. Draw, is who will play whom in an open bracketed elimination tournament. Some latest news regarding the Australian Open is that Stan Wawrinka has defeated four-time Australian Open semifinalist Andy Roddick 6-3, 6-4, and 6-4 on Sunday, for a first time quarterfinal berth. Wawrinka beat Roddick who is known to be one of the worlds most fantastic servers. Francesca Schiavone defeated the 23rd-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova the scores were 6-4, 1-6, and 16-14.

Maria Sharapova was defeated by Andrea Petkovic, 6-2,6-3 in the fourth round of the Australian Open 2011.

The Open is the first of four Annual Grand Slam tennis tournaments. The other three important tennis tournaments are the U.S. Open, French Open, and Wimbledon. The Open is a very important event in the world of tennis. The tournament is normally held in January, on hard courts. The time of year that the open is held is during the Australian summer. The Open is normally held on hard courts at a location called Melbourne Park.

The womens competition will be excellent. Serena Williams may be able to win the open, but due to her repeated absences the other contenders may still have a chance to win. Serena Williams won 5 of the last 9 Grand Slam titles. Serena currently has a foot injury. A tennis player by the name of Caroline Wozniacki has a very good chance of winning this year. Henin could win the tournament against Kim Clijsters. Clijsters won the 2010 season, WTA Championships. Henin is picked to win the Melbourne title, according to a some people. World Number 2 Vera Zvonareva will be competing and is anticipated to be in great shape. Sam Stoser, Petra Kvitova and Victoria Azarenka will also be hopefuls and competing in the tournament.

The two courts that are used in the tournament are the Hisense Arena and the Rod Laver Arena. The Grand slam tournament has men's and women's singles competition: wheel chair, junior's, exhibition, legends, and men's and women's mixed doubles competition. The singles winners for Australian Open for 2010 were Roger Federer, and Serena Williams.

The Open is managed by a company called the Tennis Australia. Because of the location of the tournament, and its remoteness very few foreign players could enter into the tournament, when it first began. The Australian open is the least televised of the Grand Slam due to the difference in time between Australia, North America and Europe. Eurosport covers a large portion of the tournament.

Excerpt: The 1963 Armstrong 500 was the fourth running of the Armstrong 500 touring car race. It was held on October 6, 1963. After the 1962 race, the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit was too damaged to continue to stage the race, forcing it to move to a new location, the Mount Panorama Circuit just outside Bathurst with a new organising club, the Australian Racing Drivers Club. The race was open to standard production sedans with four classes based on the purchase price (in Australian pounds) of the vehicle.Bob Jane and Harry Firth were the first team to complete the full race distance, taking victory in Class C in their factory backed Ford Cortina GT , the change of both vehicle and circuit making no difference to their result of the previous year. While outright victories were not to be recognised until years later, they had completed a hat-trick of 'first to the line' wins.Class structure The largest change was cosmetic. The bigger cars moved down the alphabet, the smaller cars moved into classes A and B. The Volkswagens moved into class A. Ford Falcons disappeared from the race, replaced by an influx of smaller, more versatile Ford

Creative Arts and PDHPE Learning In Australia

Nature and scope of creative arts and PDHPE learning

The field of creative arts and careers is gaining high momentum in the recent world in nearly all corners of the globe. In regard to this, people have learnt the importance and the potentiality of arts in their economic, social, education and cultural aspects. Despite the hot debate on the inclusion or the abolishment of arts in Australia schooling system, the filed of art will always remain to be vital. Creative arts encompass many forms of artistic expressions that attempt to convey a certain message to the target audience. These forms of art are designed by the artist who attempts to use symbolism or other forms of stylistic devices to arouse particular reactions from whom there are targeted.

Creative arts include music, drama, performing arts, film, and visual arts among others. Learning of creative arts would therefore include the learning of these particular forms, their history, creation, performance, analysis, critique and appreciation, among others. In Australia's schools based on the New South Wales, NSW, syllabus, creative arts are composed of visual arts, music, drama and dance. These are taught in schools starting from kindergarten, primary and secondary schools. They are also choices in higher levels of education such as universities.

PDHPE is an acronym for personal development, health and physical education. This form of education is aimed at developing a student as a whole person (board of studies, 2007).

In Australia, the PDHPE is designed to enhance the physical, mental, social and spiritual well being of students. It aims at growing in students a sense of appreciation of the importance of a healthy life in all meaning of the word (board of studies, 2000).

The debate surrounding the inclusion of the creative arts and PDHPE learning in the school curriculum in Australia

The inclusion of national curriculum in Australian schools also received mixed reactions. The introduction of the national curriculum was beneficial to the learners as well as the economy as a whole. In this case, the learners will be fed with a wider body of knowledge thus expand their careers. The arts will help in nurturing talents thus developing the nation both socially and economically. From another perspective, the inclusion of the national curriculum will boost national unity since interactions between cultures will be facilitated.

Nevertheless, there is also an amounting pressure in opposition to the inclusion of the national curriculum. Based on this, many have the opinion that it will only drain the country's economy without any results. This is on the perception that arts unlike the sciences have little or no importance.

The debate relating to the inclusion of creative arts in the school syllabus before and after its inclusion has been a fierce one. The proponents of teaching creative arts lobbied for its inclusion in the schools syllabus and were successful. Leading those fighting for the inclusion of creative arts in schools syllabus was an organization called the National Advocates for the Arts Education, NAAE. The body and others like minded groups and individuals achieved their goal when in December 2008 the "Melbourne Declaration" said that all students should receive an education on the arts (Letts, 2009). This body, which was a coming together of various bodies representing the art forms falling under the creative arts umbrella, had also managed to defeat an earlier attempt at excluding the arts from a list of key learning areas that the government had defined .The body even after campaigning vigorously for the inclusion of arts in the national curriculum, rejected the idea of lumping together of the art forms under the creative arts umbrella, instead insisting that the respective arts be taught individually.

After consensus was reached on the inclusion of the arts in schools, the next frontier in the battle was how schools would handle the five art forms namely drama, dance, music, visual arts and media. However, the NAAE was able to agree and recommended that during the years K to 10 of schooling, the schools will have to teach all the five art forms, while during secondary education years, the five art forms be offered as electives (Letts, 2009).

The competition for supremacy within the respective art forms is also another side to the debate on inclusion of creative arts in schools. There has been debate on whether any of the art forms should be given preferential treatment and be accorded more hours in schools. Those vouching for the respective art forms would of course make the case for more time for their discipline. Another aspect of the debate has been whether the teachers in schools should be specializing in their area of expertise or whether general teachers are able to effectively teach all the art forms. Those opposed to the inclusion of creative arts in the national curriculum point out that resource in some of the schools are not sufficient for effective teaching of creative arts. They argue that the framework that is being fronted by the proponents of the inclusion of creative arts in the NSW schools curriculum "will only result in the diminishing of intellectual rigor and potential for arts learning" (Clausen, 2010). There has been raging debate on whether all students should get fully qualified PDHPE teachers or not. In government schools from classes K to 6, general teachers are responsible for teaching PDHPE to their students while private ones can decide whether to employ specialists or not. There are those who believe that the government should ensure there are enough teachers qualified in PDHPE in government schools.

There was not any guerrilla group controlling a specific area of Angola because the Portuguese Armed Forces managed to overcome the insurgents. Excerpt: Australian rules football, also known as Australian football and known colloquially as Aussie rules, was first organised in Victoria in 1859 when its first rules were written by the Melbourne Football Club. By 1900, it had become the most popular sport in Victoria. Tom WillsThe complex origins of the game go back to the early 1840s and are covered in The Origins of Australian rules football On 17 May 1859, the first rules for a local code of football were written during a meeting of four members of the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC): Tom Wills, William Hammersley, J.B. Thompson and Thomas Smith. The meeting was held at the Parade Hotel on the site of the present MCG Hotel. Wills, a renowned cricketer, was secretary of the MCC at the time. He had attended Rugby School and was familiar with the argument between the proponents of allowing players to handle the ball (ie, Rugby football) and those who wanted players to use their feet only, the style later adopted by the Football Association. Below are the rules for Australian Rules Football, alleged to have been used by the Geelong Football Club in 1859. They were originally written down by hand. Excerpt: The Fourth National Government of New Zealand was the government of New Zealand from 2 November 1990 to 27 November 1999. Following in the footsteps of the previous Labour government, the fourth National government embarked on an extensive programme of spending cuts. This programme, popularly known as 'Ruthanasia' after Finance Minister Ruth Richardson, involved the reduction of social welfare benefits and the introduction of fees for healthcare and tertiary education. This was highly controversial, as was the retention of the superannuation surtax, a tax on old age pensions which National had promised to abolish. Also controversial, but in a different way, was the beginning of the Treaty settlement process. Extreme dissatisfaction with both National and Labour led to the reform of the electoral system: the introduction of proportional representation in the form of MMP. The first MMP election was held in 1996, and resulted in a coalition between National and New Zealand First. This dissolved in 1998, and the consequent cobbling together... More:

perth australia job opportunities
We live in U.S., great new job opportunity in Australia. How should we decide if we want to move?

We are reasonably happy where we live, nice home, decent jobs, kids happy in decent schools, some good friends, not much family. We have an opportunity to live in Australia (Perth) for 3-5 years -- huge financial gain. We would take at least two of the kids with us; other two are in U.S. colleges. We would close up our house for the few years with a friend or someone checking it occasionally. How do we make a decision like this? We are in our late 40's-mid 50's.

It sounds like this is a great opportunity. How will it affect the kids you are taking? Are your college children cool with this?

Personally, I would take the opportunity.

Talk it over with the kids and make a pro-con list, but unless there are overwhelming reasons to stick around, take off and enjoy 3-5 years in Australia. You only live once!

Its diverse geography ranges from the mountainous regions of the Ozarks and the Ouachita Mountains, which make up the U.S. Interior Highlands, to the eastern lowlands along the Mississippi River. The capital and most populous city is Little Rock, located in the central portion of the state. The name "Arkansas" derives from the same root as the name for the state of Kansas. The Kansas tribe of Native Americans are closely associated with the Sioux tribes of the Great Plains. The word "Arkansas" itself is a French pronunciation ("Arcansas") of a Quapaw (a related "Kaw" tribe) word "akakaze" meaning "land of downriver people" or the Sioux word "Akakaze" meaning "people of the south wind". The pronunciation of Arkansas was made official by an act of the state legislature in 1881, after a dispute between the two U.S. Senators from Arkansas. One wanted to pronounce the name and the other wanted . In 2007, the state legislature officially declared the possessive form of the state's name to be Arkansas's. View fr... More:
